Our little Sand Kittens did an excellent job presenting their Family Tree project. Thanks for all the support at home!

From left to right Ms. Noureen (Teacher Assistant), Ms. Tennisha (Homeroom Teacher) and Ms. Vilma (Classroom Assistant).
My name is Ms. Tennisha Lawrence, and I would like to start by expressing how excited I am to
be your child’s teacher this school year. Born in Virginia and growing up in North Carolina, USA, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies and Japanese. After my first experience teaching abroad, I completed a Master’s Degree in teaching elementary education. As an educator, I value my profession and the opportunity that I will have to teach your child the requirements he or she will need to complete by the end of this school year successfully. I look forward to starting my first year at Collegiate American School and I am excited to help your child develop academically and socially. From the beginning of my career in education, I have had the opportunity to work with many families and parents to ensure that their child’s needs are being met at school, and I hope to continue that while working with all of you. I am a firm believer in keeping an effective relationship with the child’s home environment, and this means ensuring open communication within the home-school connection. It is my hope that this note will be the beginning of a great line of open communication between you and I, and a fantastic learning experience for your child. I believe that by working together, we will make this year a very successful one. I look forward to getting to know your child and your family better! We are also very lucky to have two other educators in our classroom to help the children learn and grow this year. Ms. Noureen, our classroom Teaching Assistant, is starting her fourth year at CAS; and Ms. Vilma, our Classroom Assistant is starting her seventh year at CAS. They are both very passionate and excited about working with our students this year. Archives
